Understanding Your Utility Bills

Utility bills are sent out every two months (February, April, June, August, October, December). These bills include your water, sewer, & garbage/ recycling charges. Payments accepted at the office are by cheque, cash, or debit or credit card. If you are unable to come into the office, you are able to make payments through online banking or by mailing in a cheque. You can also set up automatic withdrawals by filling out the Pre-Authorized Debit Application Utilities Form- and including a void cheque with the application. Please contact us at 403-897-3833 to sign up.

For Bylaw information on the Village of Champion Utility Rates follow the link.

The flat fees on your utility bills are charged based on a cost-recovery model. The Village is billed requisitions from the Twin Valley Regional Water Commission & the Vulcan District Waste Commission for our water line & the waste/ recycling services, respectively. These fees are combined with the Village’s operational costs for the maintenance & repair of our water & sewer lines to make up the flat fee.

Your water usage rate is based on the rate passed by the Twin Valley Regional Water Commission for water costs.

Please remember to read your meter every billing period. You can phone the reading into the office or write it on the bottom of your bill. Please bring it to the office or email it to admin@villageofchampion.ca with your address and account number.
